May 22 2013



On May 22 2013 we will do the 4th figure of the Rinkinstown Set as the learning set.

Everyone
Lead around Gents place their right arm over the lady’s shoulder, taking right hand in right as they stand in the lead around position, facing anticlockwise. All couples lead around and during the last two bars, ladies turn clockwise as the gent’s arm comes back off their shoulder to face into the centre, all releasing hands.

Move on and lead half way All advance to the centre, gents taking right hand in right with the lady on their left, then as the gents retire, each lady moves to the right on the inside, keeping her back to the gent, to finish with his right arm over her shoulder in lead around position again (4b). All now lead to opposite positions, ladies turning clockwise as the gent’s arm comes back off their shoulder to face into the centre, all releasing hands. (4b).

Repeat Repeat 2 three times, ladies moving on until they lead back home with their own partners.

House All couples house around.

Cloverleaf Top couples face left and side couples face right, all taking right hand in right. All advance and retire once (4b), then ladies chain with right hands to change places, top ladies moving to the left and side ladies moving to the right. All ladies give their left hand to the other gent and dance around him into place beside him as gents turn to face the other side. Top ladies dance a full turn around the side gent while side ladies dance a half turn around the top gent (4b). After the gent turns left hand in left with the lady, he takes her right to face the next couple, on his other side.

Repeat cloverleaf to home Repeat 5 three times, top ladies moving left dancing a full turn with the gent while side ladies move right dancing a half turn with the gent as they move on each time.

Sevens halfway round Back with their own partners, all couples dance “sevens” to the centre and back (4b), then “sevens” to the next position on the right, a quarter turn clockwise and “sevens into opposite positions (4b). This is like dancing a half diamond “sevens” to opposite positions.

Repeat to home Repeat 7, dancing back home.
